Analysis of google analytics reports for Data and Digital marketing analytics Blog

Google analytics tool is important for analysing your website performance. For this blog the target audience were students of DBS, marketers and start-ups interested in explanation of Big data characteristics, possibilities of using variety of different tools and platforms (fig.1).

First blog about Big data was set up the 20th of January and until the 25th of February data about 5 blogs performance were analysed. Firstly, it is a general Audience report overview.

Data was analysed from 20th January 2020 to 25 February 2020. Fig.4 shows 6 positive changes such as increase in users (57,89%) and pages/sessions (4,40%), but also 2 negatives like decrease in new users and bounce rate (-19,74%). Also, more than in half growth the percentage of returning visitors, which shows that information they were looking is relevant. 



More detailed additional comparison of main metrics on Fig. 6-9 also shows positive performance’s changes.
 




Country where the most sessions are originated is Ireland (91,94% of all), see fig.10.


The main language is English (fig.11).




Acquisition report overview. Fig. 14 shows the main channels: direct and social media (73,7%), referral and organic only 26,3%. Further implementation should be to improve content keywords and to add good backlinks.

Through all 4 channels was made 285 sessions by 60 users with bounce rate 47,02% and average session duration is 3 min 6 sec (Fig.14).

According to fig.15 mainly this blog was accessed through desktop device.


Behavioural report overview. From the fig. 16 and 17 the biggest views have got start page (110), Is Big data as far from as we think post (106) and 3Vs of Big data (50). The least page views got: The value in Big data and Benefits and challenges of using Customer data in marketing. Comments were positive, but maybe topic did not appeal well. It needs further investigation too.


The positive changes are in bounce rate 40,98% and % of visitors who quickly leaves the page is reduced on 8,17% (fig.18).

Blog’s performance shows good potential and a rapid growth in users, visits and comments for such a short period.
